CEREC dentist

Wondering if a CEREC dentist can help you with any dental issues? If you are looking to have a few restorative dental services performed on your teeth, then this type of dentist just may be exactly what you need. Oral issues need to be addressed as quickly as possible so they do not cause even more problems to your mouth. One of the great things about making an appointment with a dentist who offers CEREC services is that you can often start and complete the dental services you need in only one appointment!

What does CEREC mean?

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic and is an advanced dental restoration system that allows dentists to offer their patients certain services in only one appointment, also known as a same day appointment. When a dentist offers their patients CEREC services, it means that they are able to place crowns in their mouth, attach veneers to their teeth and remove any amalgam fillings that are deemed to be defective or damaged.

What is a CEREC dentist?

A CEREC dentist is simply a dentist who is able to offer their patients the ability to have any dental issues taken care of in a professional and timely manner. A common dental procedure provided by a dentist who offers their patients CEREC services is crowns. When a dental patient is in need of a crown but does not get their crown from a CEREC dentist, it will take two or three appointments for them to get their crown placed, which can easily take a few weeks.

When CEREC services are used to place a crown in a dental patient’s mouth, the crown is made right then and there. All the newest dental technologies are utilized, which means that patients can only expect the best crowns when getting a CEREC crown.

CEREC process for crowns

The process starts when the dentist takes digital impressions of the teeth. These digital images are used to create a model of the tooth that is in need of a crown, which a dentist will use to create the actual crown. The end result is a high-quality ceramic crown that has been specifically made to perfectly fit on the tooth. Due to the precision of the CEREC process, there is often no need for any adjustments after the crown has been placed.
