More and more people are exploring the options of same day teeth, because going without teeth can be hard to deal with, whether you’re trying to eat or just show off that smile! However, the question among most remains whether or not same day teeth are worth the rush. In this article, we go over that question so that you have a better understanding of same day teeth.
Same day teeth
Some argue that they are absolutely worth the rush, while others have a differing opinion.
What are same day teeth?
It may first be helpful to understand what same day teeth even are. Same day teeth are available to people who have busy schedules or who are in a hurry to get their missing teeth replaced. Same day teeth can include a variety of tooth replacement options, but most commonly, they refer to dental implants and dental crowns. However, the dental crowns may be temporary, as permanent ones may not be able to be placed until healing has occurred. In some practices, same day permanent crowns are available depending on the technology that the practice has.
A same day teeth procedure will involve multiple dental implants being placed throughout a person’s mouth. These surgical components will be placed within the bone portion of a person’s jaw. Having multiple dental implants placed at once can be harsh on the mouth, but some believe that it is easier to have multiple done at once, rather than over the course of a few months.
Are same day teeth worth the rush?
While same day teeth can be a pretty complex procedure to have done, a lot of people do find that it is worth the rush because it puts them one step closer to getting back to their normal lives of being able to eat naturally and smile confidently. A lot of people that need their missing teeth replaced are eager to have the procedure done because going without teeth can bring down confidence as well as the ability to do normal eating.
On the flip side, there are people who don’t find same day teeth to be worth the rush because they fear that the end result won’t be as efficient as traditional tooth replacement would be. When dental implants and crowns are placed, there is a lot involved, including impressions, moldings and invasive surgery. When the process is rushed to be finished in one sitting and in one day, it is more likely that mistakes will be made or small details may be overlooked. For these reasons, same day teeth may not be worth the rush.
Determining whether or not same day teeth are worth the rush is pretty much up to the patient and the oral surgeon/dentist, because each person has different needs. It is always best to consult with a dental professional about your situation so that they can help you figure out what is best for you. If you have picture day coming up next week, then same day teeth may be worth the rush, but if you don’t have an immediate need for a perfect smile, then it may be best to wait until you have enough time on your hands.
